Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh calamari, cleaned and cut into rings
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 onion, sliced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3-4 pieces bay leaves
- 1 tsp whole black peppercorns
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- salt to taste
Instructions:
- In a pot, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the rings and stir well to combine.
- Add the soy sauce, vinegar, water, bay leaves, and black peppercorns, and stir well to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and then lower the heat to simmer.
- Cook for around 30-40 minutes or until they are tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Season with salt to taste.
